Gujarat govt to provide food items free to 60 lakh poor families 2020

The Gujarat government will provide food items like wheat, rice, pulses and sugar free of cost to around 60 lakh ration card holding families through fair price shops starting April 1, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said.

In case of lockdown, APL-1 card holders will also be issued to 31 lakh families for the month of May
10 kg wheat - 2 kg rice - 1 kg sugar - 1 kg lentils will be distributed free of cost per family

Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani on the occasion of the 90th founding day of the state of Gujarat in the current Corona virus infection and lockdown situation. An important announcement has been made to give the gift of May 1 to the middle class families of the state.

On the occasion of Gujarat Foundation Day, the Chief Minister announced this important gift in a public message urging all the citizens of the state to show vigilance and fight against the spread of Corona virus. He said that there are 31 lakh middle class APL-1 card holders in the state. Crore people next date.
